How hard is it to larn Visual Basic? Merely for entertainment's sake

I'm interested in learning Visual Basic for my own enjoyment. I'grand merely wondering how difficult it is to learn. I haven't done much not-web based programming before and I'thou just wondering if maybe VB wouldn't be a good place to start.
I desire to learn how to write simple little programs for my own utilise and I desire a language that is easy enough to learn and powerful enough to keep me interested. Is VB what I'm looking for or are there ameliorate languages out at that place for me?
Any suggestions would be profoundly appreciated. I wouldn't heed a few links to web sites aimed at programmers, as well.

I sure liked it alot better than C programming,Assembler or Basic. You should exist able to become a book and selection up pretty fast.
My opinion, it's a relatively easy to grasp the basics......the more than intricate stuff is a little harder.
I don't program that much anymore, but when I took a VB form in school it was pretty easy.

For the bones things it's very easy. I'grand a professional person programmer and use VB vs SQL and Role and yous can make keen things, simply y'all must do.

C is definetly hard to learn. My sig is a Hello World programme in C code. As for visual basic, a friend of mine said it's a piece of cake, peculiarly if you already know BASIC crusade in that location's a lot of similarities (co-ordinate to him).

I constitute VB incredibly like shooting fish in a barrel to learn, particularly compared to Java. I had to take a VB class for my major final semester and information technology was cakewalk. The advanced stuff is of course a bit tougher to larn, simply if you have a good foundation you lot should be OK. I really like the Visual Basic development environment and I think it's great for a beginning programer, information technology makes it pretty like shooting fish in a barrel to get in there and make some useful programs pretty quickly (particularly compared to something like JBuilder for Java).

Actually, I take found C very easy to learn, oasis't hit upwardly C++ much though. A good only outdated language to larn on is Pascal, information technology's very strict and teaches people how to program properly. If you are looking for something that isn't also hard some other place to start off is crush scipting with fustigate, they are only beat out scripts, just bash can become pretty powerful (two dimensional arrays and whatnot).

a good visual bones lawmaking should be able to be understood by a person who doesnt know VB. Its that easy and intuitive to learn. (at the showtime)

if you know any reckoner lang you should be able to pick upward VB hands. I first learned Turbo Pascal at school and and then nosotros moved into VB and information technology was easy to do, many similarities.
